Mylan
Overview
In 2024, MYLAN implemented a sophisticated pharmacy collaboration monitoring system designed to enhance operational efficiency within the distribution channel. This system provided comprehensive tools for setting sales targets, monitoring cooperation with pharmacies, and integrating data from various sources, significantly streamlining processes and improving data analysis capabilities.
Objectives
The main objectives of the project were:
-
Improve operational efficiency in the distribution channel by integrating and analysing data from multiple sources.
-
Enable presentation of forecasts, targets, and results for better performance tracking.
-
Facilitate the comparison of data from internal systems with reports from the network or warehouse.
-
Utilise artificial intelligence to streamline processes and reduce processing time.
-
Transition from an existing system for importing data to a more advanced solution.
The Challenge
MYLAN faced several challenges before the implementation of the new system:
-
Creation of a system to support sales targets for Key Account Managers and to monitor collaboration with pharmacies and pharmacy chains, originally conceived in 2015.
-
Building a web application that could handle a large number and variety of files used in pharmacy networks.
-
Easing and shortening file handling time due to the complexity and volume of data.
-
Automating the import and handling of data from pharmacy networks to improve efficiency and accuracy.
The Solution
To address these challenges, the Matrix Trade Online system was implemented, featuring several key components:
-
Matrix Trade Online System:
This system was specifically designed to set and review sales targets, providing quick access to information on sales levels across individual distribution channels. -
Data Integration and Analysis:
The system allowed for the integration and analysis of data from various sources, including direct reports from the network and warehouse. This enabled more accurate forecasting and performance evaluation. -
Automated File Handling:
The system included mechanisms to automate the import and processing of files, reducing manual effort and error rates. It utilised artificial intelligence to learn the type and nature of files, streamlining the data import process. -
User-Friendly Interface:
A user-friendly interface ensured that users could easily navigate the system, access personalised reports, and view data in a meaningful way. -
Personalised Reporting:
The system enabled the definition and generation of personalised reports, tailored to meet the specific needs of various users and stakeholders. -
AI-Enabled Features:
Artificial intelligence mechanisms facilitated the automation of repetitive tasks and enhanced the system’s ability to handle complex data processing requirements efficiently.
Results and Benefits
The implementation of the pharmacy collaboration monitoring system delivered several significant benefits:
-
Enhanced operational efficiency in the distribution channel, with streamlined processes and reduced processing times.
-
Improved presentation of forecasts, targets, and results, allowing for better performance monitoring and decision-making.
-
Effective comparison of internal data with external reports from the network or warehouse, providing a more comprehensive view of operations.
-
Automated file handling and data import, reducing manual work and increasing accuracy.
-
AI-enabled features that adapted to file types and processing needs, further enhancing system efficiency.
-
User-friendly interface that improved accessibility and usability for Key Account Managers and other users.
By implementing the Matrix Trade Online system, MYLAN achieved a significant upgrade in its ability to monitor and manage pharmacy collaborations, leading to improved operational efficiency and more effective data management.
